Monday November 22, Bold Monk welcomed Dan Mastisoff as Brewer for the Day. Dan’s wife bid on and won a certificate at the Gateway Center’s Human Clay event held annually at our sister restaurant, White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails. The Gateway Center is an amazing organization whose mission is to connect people experiencing homelessness with the support necessary to become self-sufficient. Every year the Human Clay event raises money to help fund the Gateway Center.

Dan is an Associate Professor for the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech and has been an avid homebrewer for 24 years. He’s currently researching brewing laws, regulations as well as gathering data on the brewing industry with a mind to write a book on how of these factors affect innovation in brewing, so he was quite excited to join us in brewing our beloved Discipline Dubbel as well lend a helping hand in cleaning some tanks, filling some kegs and experiencing a day in the life of a brewer…i.e. he went home wet, tired and satisfied. See- you can Drink Beer and Do Good at the same time!

Cheers to Dan! Thanks for the help and for supporting a great organization like Gateway Center!  To learn more about the Gateway Center, please visit www.gatewayctr.org.
