PROST!

This past Saturday, September 19, marked Bold Monk Brewing Co.’s first Oktoberfest celebration, and boy, was it a great time! From the tapping of the wood-aged Festbier Cask to the Stein-hoisting and Lederhosen/Dirndl contests, fun was had by all.

Guests received a cool logo’d .5L stein to drink copious amounts of Bold Monk Festbier and Chant Lager right from our taps and cask in the Beer Garden. A great Oktoberfest-inspired menu featured a Wurst Plate, Roast Chicken, Lamb Sandwich and much more. Music by Tyler Cates set the perfect mood … and what great weather. The real star was our new Beer Garden that provided the perfect place to have a relaxing and fun afternoon.

We just couldn’t have asked for a better day or better people to share it with. Thanks to everyone who came out! For those of you who missed it: head over to Bold Monk while the Festbier is still pouring (it’s going fast!) and get a taste of what you missed.

For those who wonder why we celebrate Oktoberfest in September; traditionally Oktoberfest starts in Munich 16 days before the first Sunday in Oktober…I mean October. Since the opening of Max Lager’s in 1998 we have always held to that tradition and tapped our Oktoberfest beer on the official first day of the festival. This year we continued that tradition here at Bold Monk.

Prost!
